elseco further bolsters Energy capabilities with new senior hire; Philippe Vivares

elseco has announced today that Philippe Vivares will be joining the company in a senior management role within the Energy team. Philippe will be based in elseco’s Dubai office where the company’s Energy team and centre of expertise are located.

Reporting directly to elseco Founder and CEO Laurent Lemaire, Philippe begins his new role on June 14, 2021. His mandate is to help grow and develop elseco’s Energy underwriting offering. This will include building on and evolving the current portfolio, working on innovative insurance opportunities and providing access to excellent quality and spread of business for elseco’s capacity providers (elseco Members).

Philippe joins elseco from a distinguished and successful senior underwriting background. Respected for his knowledge and experience in the Energy Insurance sector, he is recognised as one of the market leaders in Upstream. Additionally, Philippe has significant experience in both the Downstream and Utility sectors, having held management and senior positions within the industry, most recently working with Partner Re and prior to that Paris Re, Axa Re and SCOR over a career spanning 30-years.

Laurent Lemaire: “We are delighted to welcome Philippe to elseco. His solid career background and understanding of the wide remit of risks and products, both existing and emerging within the Energy sector, match the visionary mindset and ambitions that we have as a company. Working alongside Dermot Dick within the management of our Energy team, I strongly believe Philippe will help us in building on a very strong energy offering. We see opportunities created by changes in the global energy scene and believe that, with the team created over the past 18 months, we will be able to create value to all stakeholders.”

Philippe Vivares: “I am thrilled to be joining elseco, a company driven by innovation, talent, leadership and a strong sense of direction. In this changing industry landscape, I aim to further develop the company’s Energy strategy, collaborating with the existing team’s excellent capabilities and contributing to expanding elseco’s offering in this class”.
