Space Senior Underwriter - London, UK

  • Reporting to the Head of Space, the Senior Underwriter will not only have the responsibility of managing a space pool, including all broker relationship and market representation but will also be an integral member of the overall Space underwriting team.

    The Senior Underwriter is tasked to cover all segments of Space and coordinate with the group central teams and manage the referral process to authorized individuals.

    The job requires an experienced individual with 10+ years’ experience on the space insurance market, able and willing to foster market leadership of the local brand. The position is based in London, UK.

    • Establishing the yearly budget to define Expected Premium Income and measure of performance on a regular basis.

    • Issuing quotes in line with Delegated Authority rules and internal processes.

    • Space Risk data capture in ATOM (proprietary system) and analysis.

    • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.

    • Promotion of the brand in the space industry and insurance market, including content production and participation to conferences, roadshows and market events.

    • Participation to Risk Assessment: including but not limited to: New Business, Renewals, endorsements to current policies, always working within the Underwriting Authority agreement framework and the Underwriters.

    • Involved in end-to-end risk review, including policy wording analysis, pricing adequacy, satellite health report review, historical loss ratio analysis and line size determination.

    • Work with the rest of the group to strengthen and build robust processes on underwriting and claims areas.

    • Contributes to the acquisition and entry of all relevant space risk data in the ATOM platform.

    • Involved in the production and sign off (along with authority from Space head) of the contractual monthly/quarterly reports to capacity providers (Members) as well as other management information reports.

  • • Degree Bachelor educated and/or CII Professional examinations achieved.

    • 10+ years of Space insurance market experience.

    • Excellent communication skills.

    • Numerate and skilled with excel.

    • Team player.

    • Meticulous, hardworking ethic, positive can-do attitude, displaying strong mental agility.

    • Professional approach, self-motivated and takes initiatives to find solutions.

    • Ability to learn, understand and actively use new technologies.

Space Junior Client Advocate - London, UK

  • Reporting to the Head of Space, the Client Advocate will not only have the responsibility of marketing a space pool but will also be an integral member of the overall Space underwriting team.

    The Client Advocate is tasked to cover all segments of Space and coordinate with the group central teams and manage the referral process to authorized individuals.

    While experience in space insurance or other P&C classes is an added value, our selection process will emphasize on attitude and mindset more than existing knowledge. Our team will provide extensive in-house training in all aspects of space insurance and prior experience in the class is not a must requirement. The position is based in London, UK.

    • Space Risk data capture in ATOM (proprietary system) and analysis.

    • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.

    • Promotion of the brand in the space industry and insurance market, including content production and participation to conferences, roadshows and market events.

    • Participation to Risk Assessment: including but not limited to: New Business, Renewals, endorsements to current policies, always working within the Underwriting Authority agreement framework and the Underwriters.
